Understand how visitors move through your space, without installing a single new sensor
Most organisations make space planning, tenancy, and operational staffing decisions on instinct or outdated surveys. WILAS Location Analytics changes that: it derives real-time visitor behaviour intelligence directly from existing WiFi infrastructure, delivering the data needed to make evidence-based decisions.

Decisions about space and operations are still being made on assumptions
Commercial venues invest heavily in physical space - retail zones, common areas, event floors, and facilities. Yet in most deployments, the performance of that space is measured only through sales data and periodic manual surveys. The granular behavioural data that could drive better decisions simply does not exist.
No visibility of how visitors actually behave
Foot traffic counters at entrances tell you how many people entered. They do not tell you where visitors went, how long they stayed, which zones underperformed, or how behaviour changed over time.
Space and tenancy decisions made without evidence
Tenancy mix reviews, zone layout changes, and lease negotiations are conducted without objective data on how different areas of the venue actually perform. The decisions that follow carry unnecessary commercial risk.
Operational staffing not aligned to actual demand
Cleaning schedules, security deployment, and customer service staffing are planned against expected patterns rather than actual occupancy data. The result is either over-resourcing at quiet periods or under-resourcing at peak times.
What WILAS Location Analytics delivers
Zone-level foot traffic intelligence
Understand how visitors move across every zone in the venue - not just how many entered. Measure occupancy rates, dwell time, and movement paths with granularity that entry counters cannot provide.
Evidence-based space utilisation
Identify underperforming zones, over-occupied areas, and layout inefficiencies with objective data. Reconfiguration and tenancy decisions are supported by historical and real-time occupancy trends.
Demand-aligned operations
Align cleaning, security, and customer service staffing to actual occupancy patterns. Reduce operational waste at low-traffic periods and ensure adequate coverage at peak times.
Tenant and stakeholder performance reporting
Provide tenants, asset owners, and management committees with objective, data-backed performance reports. Replace subjective assessments with verified foot traffic and engagement metrics.
Trend analysis and benchmarking
Track how visitor behaviour changes over time, across campaigns, events, and seasonal periods. Benchmark zone performance week-on-week, month-on-month, and year-on-year.
No additional sensor hardware required
In the standard deployment, WILAS Location Analytics derives all visitor intelligence from the existing WiFi infrastructure. There is no need to procure or install additional sensors or beacons.
What the platform includes
Real-time occupancy monitoring
Live zone-level occupancy dashboards showing current visitor counts, dwell times, and congestion levels across the venue. Configurable alert thresholds for zone capacity management.
Foot traffic heatmaps
Visual heatmap overlays mapped to the venue floor plan, showing where visitors spend time, which paths they take, and where engagement is highest or lowest. Updated on a configurable refresh cycle.
Dwell time and visit duration analysis
Measures how long visitors spend in each zone and across the venue overall. Tracks changes in dwell patterns over time and correlates them with operational or commercial variables.
Visitor journey and movement flow
Tracks the sequence of zones visitors move through, identifying common paths, entry and exit patterns, and points where visitors transition between areas.
Repeat visitor and frequency analysis
Identifies returning visitors and measures visit frequency patterns. Distinguishes between first-time and repeat visitors to support loyalty programme design and targeted engagement strategies.
Zone performance benchmarking
Compares performance across zones, floors, or locations using standardised metrics. Supports tenancy review conversations with objective comparative data.
Event and campaign impact measurement
Measures the change in foot traffic and dwell time attributable to specific events, promotions, or layout changes. Provides before-and-after analysis for management reporting.
Scheduled and on-demand reporting
Automated report distribution to stakeholders on a daily, weekly, or monthly schedule. On-demand report generation available via the dashboard for ad-hoc analysis and presentation preparation.
From WiFi signals to operational decisions
Device detected
Visitor devices are passively detected by existing WiFi access points as they move through the venue
Signal collected
Anonymised device signals are collected continuously across all access points in the network
Data processed
Raw signals are processed and aggregated into visitor counts, dwell times, zone transitions, and movement flows
Insights surfaced
Processed data is presented via real-time dashboards, heatmaps, and automated reports
Decisions made
Operators use the intelligence to guide space planning, staffing, tenancy, and campaign decisions
No additional hardware required. In the standard deployment, WILAS Location Analytics operates entirely on top of the existing WiFi access point infrastructure. Visitor privacy is protected by design: all tracking is based on anonymised device identifiers, not personal data. No personally identifiable information is collected or stored by the analytics layer.
Applied across venue types and operational contexts
Retail Malls
Shopping centres, lifestyle malls, and retail parks
Mall management teams use WILAS Location Analytics to monitor zone-level traffic performance across the entire tenancy mix. Foot traffic heatmaps and dwell time data provide an objective basis for tenancy placement decisions, common area layout optimisation, and anchor tenant reporting. During promotional periods and events, the platform measures actual uplift in traffic and time-in-zone, giving marketing teams verifiable proof of campaign ROI.
Commercial Real Estate and Offices
Grade A office buildings, business parks, and co-working campuses
Building operators and facilities managers use occupancy data to align cleaning, security, and building services with actual usage patterns rather than fixed schedules. Space utilisation reports support lease renewal conversations and identify floors or zones that are consistently underused. For co-working operators, the data informs desk allocation, amenity placement, and peak-hour resource planning.
Airports and Transport Hubs
International airports, MRT interchanges, and ferry terminals
Passenger flow data is critical for managing congestion, queuing, and commercial zone performance in transport environments. WILAS Location Analytics gives terminal operators real-time visibility of movement patterns, dwell concentrations, and retail zone engagement - without requiring passengers to interact with any system. The data supports wayfinding improvements, retail placement reviews, and capacity planning for peak travel periods.
Government and Public Institutions
Community centres, libraries, museums, and public service buildings
Public sector operators are under increasing pressure to demonstrate the utilisation and value of publicly funded spaces. WILAS Location Analytics provides objective occupancy and engagement data that supports budget justifications, space consolidation decisions, and service delivery reviews. The privacy-preserving architecture - based entirely on anonymised device signals - aligns with public sector data governance requirements.
From entry counters to island-wide visitor intelligence
Anonymised Case Study: Major integrated leisure destination, Singapore - island-wide Location Analytics deployment
The Situation
For years, the operators of one of Singapore's most visited leisure destinations had only three sources of visitor data: vehicle entry records, train ticketing figures, and periodic manual counter surveys. Each of these measured arrivals at specific entry points. None of them captured what happened after visitors entered.
There was no visibility of which zones attracted the most footfall, how long visitors spent in different areas, or how crowd patterns built and shifted across the day. For tenants - F&B operators, retail outlets, and attraction providers spread across the destination - this meant operating blind. When a surge of visitors moved into a particular zone, tenants in that area had no forewarning. Staffing levels were set against general expectations, not real signals. Commercial opportunities were missed not because visitors were absent, but because tenants simply did not know the crowd was coming until it had already arrived and moved on.
Manual surveys provided some retrospective data, but they were periodic, resource-intensive, and insufficiently granular to support operational or tenancy decisions with confidence.
The Deployment
WILAS Location Analytics was deployed island-wide across the destination's existing WiFi access point infrastructure, with no hardware additions or network changes required. Zone configurations were mapped to the key areas across the destination, and the platform was calibrated to the venue layout within weeks of engagement. From the point of go-live, operators and the tenant management team had access to real-time zone occupancy data, movement flow visibility, and historical trend analysis for the first time.
"We finally have something concrete to bring to tenant conversations. When a tenant asks why a particular weekend underperformed, we no longer have to rely on general observations - we can show them exactly what the traffic looked like, where visitors went, and where the gaps in readiness were. That changes the nature of the relationship entirely."
